"The Rose of Europe"
winning hearts wherever she
goes

Cricket was born on the 4th July 1994 and sadly passed away on the 4th August 2008, aged exactly 14 years and 1 month. I remember the day she was born and new instantly, when I held this tiny, wet little bundle in my hand, that she was something special. She became my constant companion, travelled around the world with me and even in her last days would still be my constant shadow. She will be very much missed and will leave a big whole in my life but she will always remain in my heart. "Cricket" arrived in Denmark October 1999 shortly after my move to Denmark. I am proud
to have bred her and even prouder to have been owned by her. I remember when
she was just a puppy, so dark and so little and so cute and so full of mischief. She used
to like digging for Cricket's in the ground, hence her name. Cricket you are a dream come true!!!!!!!!
Cricket had a wonderful show career in many Countries, having won over 30
Certificates in Denmark alone. She is, without a doubt, the
Biggest winning border collie in Europe. She has more than 11 TITLES to
her name and they still continued to amass until she stopped being shown after my illness in 2002. She has won
Certificates in Australia, America, Denmark, Italy, Germany and
Holland with the recent Best of Breed win at the World Show held
In Holland. Cricket was best Border Collie of the year at the
Danish Border Collie Club point score for 3 years in a row and was best bithch at the World Show 3 times (she only competed 3 times) and was BOB twice.

Cricket
is still the ONLY border collie to have been awarded a best in
group and Best in Show in Denmark at an all breeds show and I
dare say, will remain so for a long time to come. She has won
Best Exhibits in Show at FCI Shows and she has also won several
BIS's at specialty shows, both here and in Germany where on her
first trip to Germany, she won BIS at the British Breeds Show.
Cricket was an utter dream to show, giving so much of herself
and with her superb movement, the judges could not help but admire
her. Cricket was also the first bitch to be awarded a No 1 group
placement in the US.
"Cricket" was an incredible dog of brains and beauty, and yes, she did love
to work sheep and was very good at it. In her spare time, she liked
to sleep on the bed. Her wins are too numerous to mention so we
will list just a few of her most memorable ones below.
